Early Childhood Program Manager
The employee in this role is responsible for overseeing the development and effective implementation of educational programs for children of pre-K to age 8 who are presenting with emergent learning, behavioral and emotional challenges that require services from specialists.

The manager will recruit, train and monitor staff on implementing professionally recognized best practice instructional models for children across all developmentally appropriate areas and ensure the effective integration of accentuating strengths while addressing challenges in the academic and behavioral domains so that all children demonstrate measurable progress.  The manager will research, incorporate and oversee training of emergent assistive technology for 4-8 year old children with a variety of mild to moderate visual, auditory and/or motor challenges.  Administrative and managerial responsibilities will include supervising and evaluating staff and specialists on a regular basis, ensuring the effective integration of programming with the behavioral and therapeutic domains so that collaborative interdisciplinary programming is in effect at all times, serving as a member of the CHC Learning Center Operations Team and assisting the Center Director and monitoring budgets allocated for early childhood educational programs. 

Requirements:  At a minimum, the chosen candidate will have a M.A. degree in Early Childhood Education, including teaching and school administration and/or related experience. At least 5 years of experience post degree is desirable.  Training in assistive technology, experience in developing appropriate curricula and experience managing teachers and other staff is necessary.  Significant experience in an interdisciplinary setting delivering services to children and families with behavioral and development challenges is desired. 

Therapist (Behavior Management and Therapy Department)

Children's Health Council (CHC) is a diagnostic and treatment center helping children, teens and their families find the best ways to learn, develop and thrive. We value excellent and caring interdisciplinary practice, responsiveness to community needs, accessibility and professional training & applied research. CHC is growing and we are eager to expand our staff! Of particular importance to us is recruiting a Clinician to do group, individual and family work at our clinic in Palo Alto and in the community (schools, home, etc.). Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred. Opportunities are available for full or part time work.

The ideal candidate is:

  • A Therapist with a Master's Degree and current CA licensure as LCSW or MFT (licensed psychologist also considered). We will consider non-licensed staff working toward licensure or with extensive young child autism experience
  • Experienced in working with young children and children with autism
  • Experienced in working with kids with diagnoses such as ADHD, OCD, ODD, Depression, Anxiety, and Autism Spectrum Disorders who have challenges with social skills, emotional regulation, expressing themselves, attention and/or organization.
  • Able and proficient in developing strategies with clients, teachers and families to teach alternative replacement behaviors/coping strategies that meet the same function as the behaviors that are interfering with their functioning.
  • Sensitive, warm and collaborative - with parents and other professionals
  • Trained in behavioral analysis (preferred but not required)
  • Focused on making sure the parent is part of the treatment team
  • Uses evidence based practices
  • Comfortable giving presentations to parents and other professionals
  • Bilingual/bicultural
  • Able to provide own transportation (required)
