As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher. You have experienced how fascinating and how puzzling your young child can sometimes be. All About Young Children invites parents to explore the information that can help them understand your child’s learning and discover new ways to support your growing child.

Child Development

All About Young Children provides information on each stage of your child’s development, from birth to age 5.  Explore the section that corresponds to your child’s age to learn about:

Social-emotional development — How are children learning about feelings and relationships?

Language development and literacy — How are children learning language?

Number sense — What are young children learning about numbers?

Physical development — How are children becoming skillful at moving their bodies?

Approaches to learning — What skills help children learn?
